Kishwaukee College has received COVID-19 relief money from the federal and state governments. Higher Education Emergency Relief Funds (HEERF) include: CARES; GEERS; CRRSAA; and American Rescue Plan.

Support services

Since March 2020, the College has increased support, and removed barriers, to assist students with their financial challenges brought on by the pandemic. Support efforts include:

  1. Textbook Loan Program-the program has been significantly expanded.  For Summer 2021, registered students will receive textbooks and required digital materials FREE.
  2. Laptop/Chromebook Loan Program-Supporting students and their technology needs has been a priority. An increased supply of Laptops and Chromebooks are available for student in need.
  3. Champions Fund-emergency funding is available to student who experience unexpected costs throughout the semester, including car, medical, housing, food, or other basic necessity.
  4. COVID-19 Relief Support Stipend-Financial support to currently enrolled students to cover educational expenses incurred during the pandemic. CARES student disbursement was awarded in Spring 2020. CRRSAA student disbursement to students enrolled in Spring 2021.

CRRSAA Student Disbursement Information

The Coronavirus Response and Relief, Supplemental Appropriations Act (CRRSAA) is federal legislation which provides economic relief to individuals and organizations affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. CRRSAA allows colleges to allocate funding to students who are experiencing financial difficulties as a result of COVID-19 and its related impacts. Kishwaukee College is committed to getting the economic relief directly to eligible students as quickly as possible. Credit students who are enrolled or have completed courses as of April 14, 2021, will be receiving a disbursement by May 20.
