SCHEDULE AN ADVISING APPOINTMENT
Kish now uses Navigate-360 for scheduling advising appointments—and so much more. Discover all its features on the Student Success page.
- Log in using Kish username/password.
- Click the plus (+) icon and select Schedule Appointment.
- Choose the service, date, and click Find Available Time.
- Pick a day/time and meeting type (in person, phone, or virtual).
- Add comments, opt for email/text reminders, and enter your phone number.
- Click Schedule to confirm.

Where can I find a listing of all Fall/Spring/Summer course offerings?
View all available fall, spring and summer courses on the Course Search page. Browse classes by semester, subject or course type. Check back regularly for
the most up-to-date offerings.
When do late start classes begin?
Late-start classes vary by start date but usually begin within eight weeks of the
start of a 16-week semester. View our our Important Dates & Deadlines page for more information.
How do I change my degree program or certificate?
You can change your degree or certificate program by visting Student Services, C2100, and filling out the Change of Program form for career or transfer students or by
emailing your Academic Advisor.
How do I apply for graduation?
To apply for graduation, log into myKish, find the "Academics" tab in the Self-Service portal. Then, under the "Academics"
tab, click "Graduation Overview." Under "Graduation Overview," you can apply for graduation.
How do I register for classes?
To register, current students log in to myKish, under Self-Service - Student card click on "Student Planning" to view their schedule.
Find "Plan Your Degree & Register for Classes" and select "Go to Plan & Schedule."
Classes appear in yellow until registration is confirmed by clicking “Register Now.”
NOTE: New students must first complete the Student Application.
I am having trouble registering for a class. Why can't I register?
Registration for a class will depend on a few things, including confirmation of address
and phone number, restrictive standing, financial aid reasons, placement testing,
prerequisites, conduct or money owed to the institution. Call 815-825-9375 for assistance.
What does it mean to be on restricted standing?
Students who fall below the minimum grade-point average (GPA) for good academic standing
are placed on restricted standing. While on restricted standing, students must meet
with an academic advisor each term before enrolling in classes. Restricted standing
is lifted once the student’s GPA meets or exceeds the required threshold for good
standing. Learn more about academic standing policies and procedures in the Academic Catalog.
Check with your instructor to see if you are still allowed to remain in the class if you have not already been dropped. If the instructor permits you to stay, no further action is needed. If not, you must formally drop the course. You can do this by visiting Student Services, C2100, to complete an add/drop form or online by using myKish. To drop a course online, under Self-Service - Student card click on "Student Planning" and then “Drop” under the registered course. Courses cannot be dropped after the withdrawal period.
NOTE: It is your responsibility as a student to know when your classes start and end.
I am having a problem with an instructor. Who do I talk to about my concern?
All students are encouraged to first utilize informal discussion to resolve any problems encountered at the College.
- When appropriate, the student is encouraged to talk directly to the faculty or staff member in an effort to resolve the issue.
- If the student prefers to talk to someone other than the direct faculty or staff member involved, they are encouraged to present the complaint to their assigned academic advisor.
Students can drop a class either in person at Student Services, C2100, by filling out an add/drop form or online through myKish. To drop online, under Self-Service - Student card click on "Student Planning" and then “Drop” under the registered course. Courses cannot be dropped after the withdrawal period.
Dropping a class happens before the class begins or within the first 12% of the course—refer to the Important Dates & Deadlines page for exact dates. Dropped courses do not appear on your academic record. Withdrawing occurs after the drop deadline and may affect your academic record, financial aid, and more. Withdrawals must be completed in person and require a meeting with an Academic Advisor. Visit Student Services, C2100, or schedule an appointment online. For other questions, call 815-825-9375.
If you have to drop your classes for medical reasons, you can do so by stopping by the Student Services, C2100, and fill out the add/drop form or via the processes described above in myKish.
NOTE: If it is past the refund period and you want to request a refund for your courses, you must complete the Tuition and Hardship Appeal form, available in Student Services, C2100.
Why was I dropped from a class?
You may have been dropped from a class because of non-payment, non-attendance or you have not met the prerequisites for the course(s).
How do I know if the course I am taking at another college or university will transfer to Kish?
First, send your official college transcript to Kish. Transfer credits from another institution will have to be evaluated by the Records Analyst in Student Services. Evaluations may take 1-4 weeks after submission of official transcripts. Transfer credits must be earned at a regionally accredited institution.
Consult with a Kish Academic Advisor or the admissions representative at your transfer institution about academic requirements. Illinois Articulation Initiative (IAI) approved courses can transfer to Illinois public institutions. Find additional information on the Transferring from Kish web page.
What is Navigate-360?
Navigate-360 is an all-in-one student support platform that keeps you organized and
connected. It offers personalized to-do lists, appointment scheduling, and easy access
to advisors, resources, and your Care Team so you always know where to turn for help.
How do I log into Navigate-360?
Log into Navigate-360 using your Kish username and password. You can access Navigate-360
through myKish, D2L, or the advising webpage.
How do I schedule an appointment?
When logged into Navigate-360, click the plus (+) icon to schedule an appointment,
then select your service, date, time, meeting type, and add any comments before confirming.
Who is my assigned academic advisor?
When logged into Navigate-360, click on Appointments. Then click My Team. Your assigned
advisor will show there.
Why isn’t my updated class schedule showing in Navigate-360?
Course schedules are updated every 24 hours in Navigate360, so check back tomorrow
if you added or dropped a course that’s not appearing correctly.
What is a Hand Raise and how do I submit one?
A Hand Raise is a self-issued alert you can submit in Navigate-360 when you need assistance
or support. Log in, click the plus (+) icon, select Hand Raise, choose a reason, and
submit—your academic advisor will follow up within 24–48 hours.
Can I use Navigate-360 on my phone?
Yes. Download the Navigate Student app from the Apple App Store or Google Play.
Can I opt out of text messaging later if I change my mind?
You can opt in or out of Navigate-360 text messages anytime in Account/Notifications.
Keep your phone number updated—changes in Self-Service update both your student record
and Navigate-360, but changes made only in Navigate-360 won’t update your student
record.
