Important Information Before Leaving Kish
Federal Loans
  • Federal Loans remain in school deferment status while students are enrolled in six or more credits in an eligible degree program.
  • Federal Direct Subsidized Loans do not accrue interest while you are in school. Federal Unsubsidized, Private and Plus Loans accrue interest throughout the life of the loan.
  • Once you drop below six credits, graduate, or withdraw from school, you will enter a six-month grace period before repayment begins.
  • Every student is assigned a loan servicer who will contact you during school and your grace period to prepare you for repayment. First loan payments are generally due one month after the grace period ends. Find a list of federal loan servicers at Federal Student Aid — Who’s my Loan Servicer?
