ESL - English as a Second Language

English as a Second Language (ESL) classes strengthen English reading, writing, and listening skills for employment, college, and student success. Instruction is provided for beginning, intermediate, and advanced level ESL learners. ESL Transition classes are provided at Kishwaukee College.

Classes are held in Malta at Kishwaukee College and in the communities of DeKalb and Rochelle. Classes at each location may vary.

Registration takes place before the start of each semester at Kishwaukee College and various community sites. Please plan at least 3 hours for registration, orientation, and assessment. Se realiza la inscripción antes del comienzo de cada semestre en Kishwaukee College y en varios sitios de la comunidad. Planifique por lo menos 3 horas para el registro, la orientación, y la evaluación. Family Literacy Program

The Family Literacy Program offers childcare to parents who are enrolled in Adult Education classes. 

This program offers on-site childcare with educational activities for children whose parents are attending Adult Basic Education, High School Equivalency preparation classes or ESL classes.

Classes and funds are limited to select locations.
