Adult Education classes open for Fall 2020

The DeKalb Workforce Development Office (DWDO), through Kishwaukee College, has financial assistance available through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Grant. The WIOA grant can fund up to $10,000.00 towards the completion of WIOA approved programs at Kishwaukee College.
The Illinois WorkNet Center and DWDO recently added a new listing of approved programs at Kish eligible for WIOA funding. New programs include: Sterile Processing Technician; EMS Paramedic; EMT Certificate; Paramedic Certificate; Google IT Support; Medical Assistant; and Technology & Manufacturing. Program eligibility varies and includes, but not limited to, assessing one’s income vs. family size. People who have recently been laid off/ receive unemployment insurance and/ or are considered low income based off of Illinois State guidelines are strongly encouraged to apply.
In addition to financial assistance for approved programs for those who qualify, the DWDO also assists with job searching and professional development for community members- with all services currently being offered remotely.
