Annual Great Lakes Regional Community College Art Exhibition

Kishwaukee College faculty and students participated in the Annual Great Lakes Regional Community College Art Exhibition, presented by the James Pearson Duffy Department of Art & Art History at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. The exhibit ran Friday, June 29 through Friday, July 20.

The exhibition featured artworks created by students and instructors from community colleges in the Great Lakes Region, including Kishwaukee College. Representing Kish faculty was Miles Halpern, Assistant Professor of Art & Design. Two Kish students also participated: Callie Ackland, Rochelle, and Haley Kohout, Genoa. Callie submitted a mixed media oil and acrylic painting. Haley submitted a graphite figure drawing on paper that she created in her Figure Drawing course at Kish.

“Both [Callie and Haley] are really talented and ambitious, always pushing themselves to be better,” said Miles. He continued, “they make Kish proud.”
