Kish College Veterinary Assistant program resumes in July 2022
The Kishwaukee College Continuing Education department will offer the Fall 2022 Veterinary Assistant program from July 24 through Dec. 16.

To complete the GED, examinees must achieve a minimum score of 145 on each test area and a minimum total score of 580 on all four tests. The State of Illinois also requires a passing score on the Constitution test. The GED is offered on the computer at Kishwaukee College and is available in English or Spanish.
Free High School Equivalency prep classes: Kishwaukee College offers free HSE classes both on campus and in the community.
Free Practice test: GED Testing Services offers a free practice test to inform examinees of the types of questions that will be asked on the GED tests.
GED Ready Test: The official GED practice test with results costs $6 per exam and can be purchased through your MyGED account. Vouchers are available. Please contact the Director of Adult Education at 815-825-9408 if you are interested in a voucher to pay for the GED Ready Test.
GED Calculator Tutorial: A calculator is built into the GED test. Practice with this GED Calculator Tutorial. Examinees may also bring in a TI-30XS multiview scientific calculator.
An individual is eligible to take the GED test if they meet the guidelines listed below:

*Illinois Residency is proven by an Illinois address on a government-issued photo ID (e.g. IL Drivers License or IL State ID). If the government-issued photo ID does not include an address, the examinee must provide one of the following in the examinee's name and dated at least 30 days prior to the test date:

Reasoning through Language Arts - covers reading, comprehending, and analyzing complex texts; writing a well-developed argument using supporting evidence; editing text to eliminate errors and nonstandard usage. (2 sections; 150 minutes total with a 10 minute optional break)
Mathematical Reasoning - covers rational numbers, measurement, algebraic problem solving including expressions and equations, graphs and functions (115 minutes). TI-30XS multiview scientific calculator is allowed on the test.
Science - Includes life science and physical science, earth and space sciences (90 minutes)
Social Studies - Covers US history, economics, civics and government, and world geography (75 minutes)

Constitution Test Requirement
The State of Illinois requires all persons who receive an Illinois High School Equivalency to pass the IL/US Constitution Test. Those who did not meet this requirement while in high school must take a Constitution test administered by the GED Testing Center.

You can set up your account at www.ged.com. (You must have an email address to set up an account). Remember your username and password - you will need it later to access your scores!
You may schedule online through your GED account or by calling PearsonVue at 1-877-392-6433.

You can schedule one or more tests at the same time. It is recommended to split the tests into manageable appointments and not take all of them on the same day.
Each test is $30 and must be paid by a credit or debit card. If you have a voucher, enter it in the “Voucher/Promotion Code” box.
To reschedule or cancel: log in or call 1-877-392-6433 at least 24 hours in advance of your scheduled testing appointment. If you do not call to cancel or reschedule, you will lose your testing fees.
Kishwaukee College may cancel testing when the college closes due to extreme weather conditions or other emergencies. To find out about school closings, call the College 815-825-2086 or check www.kish.edu. You will receive a phone call from Pearson Vue to reschedule your test.
