The Distinguished Alumni Award is the highest award presented to an alumnus by the Kishwaukee College Foundation. The award recognizes an alumnus or alumna who has brought recognition to the College through professional achievements, affiliations, leadership and community impact.

Andy Sullivan — 2026 Distinguished Alumni Award Winner
Andy Sullivan, DeKalb County Sheriff, received the 2026 Distinguished Alumni Award for his leadership and service. A Kish graduate, he built a lifelong law enforcement career serving his community while continuing his education, exemplifying commitment to public safety and lifelong learning.
Eligibility and Selection Criteria
Nominees must have earned a degree or certificate of completion, or completed at least 45 credit hours at Kishwaukee College. Selection may also consider the following:
- Established in their profession and/or community
- Demonstrated outstanding contributions to Kishwaukee College and/or the community
- Support of the College through involvement, internships, or philanthropic contributions
- Demonstrated integrity and leadership
An individual is not eligible to receive the award if they:
- Are currently a candidate for public office
- Are a member of the award selection committee
- Are a previous recipient of the award
- Serve on the Kishwaukee College Foundation Board of Directors or Board of Trustees
- Are employed by the Kishwaukee College Foundation
