Kish womens basketball playing Pink Zone game February 1 for breast cancer awareness

The Kishwaukee College women’s basketball is participating in the nationwide Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) breast cancer awareness and fundraising event, Pink Zone, on February 1 in the College gym.

WBCA's Pink Zone raises money for the Kay Yow Cancer Fund for breast cancer research. The Kishwaukee College event will include several activities designed to create awareness, recognize cancer survivors and raise funds for breast cancer research.

The women's and men's basketball teams will play scheduled games against South Suburban College. Women's tip-off time is 1:00 pm and men's tip-off time is approximately 3:00 pm. Silent Auction items will be open for bidding from 12:30 pm – 3:30 pm.

Fans wearing pink will be admitted for a $1.00 ticket price. Items for inclusion in the Pink Zone Silent Auction are being accepted now through January 29.  Area businesses or individuals who would like to donate Silent Auction items should contact Krystal Gundy, Kish head women's basketball coach, at 815-825-9527 or at kgundy@kish.edu.

There will also be a 50/50 raffle during the game that will close at 3:30 pm. T-shirts will also be available for purchase. Cost of the shirts is $12.00.
