Radiologic Technology

radiologic technology

Radiologic technologists fulfill a crucial part in patient health care. Their main responsibility is to capture images of a patient’s body using diagnostic imaging equipment. This important function assists doctors in diagnosing and treating injury or disease. Technologists create positive patient experiences and often specialize in a particular field. They may use X-ray, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), computer tomography (CT) or mammography, depending on their specialty.

In our radiologic technology program, you will:

  • Gain competency in clinical procedures such as patient positioning and radiation protection
  • Learn to communicate effectively to meet individual patient needs
  • Participate in clinical experiences at different medical facilities in the region
  • Prepare to become a licensed radiologic technologist in Illinois
