Kishwaukee College hired Tre Jackson as the next head coach for the Women’s Basketball
team. Jackson is the 13th coach in program history.
With decades of experience as a player and coach, Jackson brings a wealth of basketball
knowledge to Kish’s program. Jackson played basketball throughout high school and
college before signing with the Dodge City Legend as part of the United States Basketball
League. Following his playing career, Jackson transitioned into coaching. With 22
years of experience, he has coached at various levels, including Amateur Athletic
Union (AAU), high school and most recently as the head coach of the women’s team at
Barclay College in Kansas. Jackson said the opportunity and culture were motivation
to transition to Kishwaukee College.
“I was impressed after evaluating the College’s mission and vision statements. Both
of those touched home for me. They made me feel like Kish is the place to be,” Jackson
said. “My initial goal is to build our program’s foundation. I want this to be one
of the greatest experiences our student-athletes have.”
As Jackson continues to build the program, his focus is on finding motivated student-athletes
who want to take their game to the next level.
“We will scout local student-athletes and work with area coaches on the recruiting
trail. We’re looking for great talent and great individuals,” Jackson said.
With a focus on academics, Jackson emphasized that success in the classroom will help
lead to success on the court.
“The greatest thing I could get out of our student-athletes is to see them graduate
or move on to the next step in their life goals,” Jackson said. “My motto is ‘One
ball. One team. One way.’ We do everything together to help each other succeed.”
