Kish College to host home daycare provider workshop

Kishwaukee College will host Maggie Fern for a workshop on how to become a home daycare provider as part of Kish’s Early Childhood Education (ECE) professional development series.

The event is from 5:30-7 pm Thursday, Feb. 8, online via Zoom. The event is free and open to the public.

Fern is a Recruitment, Retention, Referral and Outreach Coordinator for 4-C: Community Coordinated Child Care of DeKalb. She has 10 years of experience in the Early Childhood Education field and works with providers who want to start childcare businesses in their homes.

The workshop will focus on the beginning steps of how to open a family childcare business, the requirements, and how 4-C can assist in the process. Those interested in a career in ECE are encouraged to attend. The event is supported by the Illinois Early Childhood Access Consortium for Equity (ECACE).
