Kish College to offer summer, fall therapeutic massage continuing education units

The Kishwaukee College Continuing Education department will offer seven Therapeutic Massage classes during the Summer and Fall 2024 semesters. The classes provide Continuing Education Units (CEUs), which measure professional development.

Each class is taught by Julie Kimpan-Freeman at Kishwaukee College. Three-hour classes are $75, four-hour classes are $100, and six-hour classes are $150.

Deep Pressure Massage Techniques for the Neck — Monday, June 10 (9 am-12 pm) — 3 CEUs

Advance your understanding and application of techniques to address neck issues.

Deep Pressure Massage Techniques for Low Back — Monday, July 8 (9 am-12 pm) — 3 CEUs

Learn to apply deep tissue pressure massage techniques to alleviate lower back pain.

Shoulder Massage — Monday, Aug. 12 (9 am-12 pm) — 3 CEUs

Learn effective shoulder massage techniques to relieve pain and improve range of motion.

Massage Cupping — Friday, Sept. 20 (9 am-1 pm) — 4 CEUs

Discover how to use massage cupping to decompress and release tension in muscles and fascia.

Side-Lying Massage — Friday, Oct. 18 (9 am-4 pm) — 6 CEUs

Learn how side-lying massage can benefit anyone, not just pregnant individuals.

Pregnancy Massage — Friday, Nov. 15 (9 am-4 pm) — 6 CEUs

Enhance your knowledge and skills in the benefits, guidelines and precautions for prenatal and perinatal massage.

Stretching Your Client — Monday, Dec. 2 (9 am-4 pm) — 6 CEUs

Study how to accelerate healing from injuries through proper stretching techniques.
