Kishwaukee College’s chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society (PTK) inducted 11
new members this month during a virtual ceremony.
The Alpha Rho Eta chapter held its traditional candle-lighting induction and installation
ceremony on Nov. 17 with college leadership welcoming the new inductees.
PTK is the largest honor society in higher education with more than 3.5 million members
worldwide. The society recognizes academic achievement of two-year college students
and provides them with opportunities to grow as scholars and leaders. To be eligible,
students must complete a minimum of 12 credit hours of coursework towards an associate
degree and earn a 3.5 GPA or higher. Students must maintain a high academic standing
throughout their enrollment at the College. Membership is by invitation only.
The following Kish students were inducted to PTK during the Fall 2020 ceremony:

The Fall 2020 inductees and their guests were welcomed to the College by Kishwaukee
College President, Dr. Laurie Borowicz, and Chapter Advisor, Tim Anderson. The induction
ceremony was presided over by Past Chapter President Gwendolyn Papke. Also participating
were the current officers of the Alpha Rho Eta chapter: Kaitlynn Ost, President; Eddith
Encho Endak Eyanyeh, Vice President; Edwin Camargo, Hallmark Officer; Jennifer Gonzalez,
Publicity Officer; and Katelyn Ackland, Recording Officer. Past Chapter President
Gwendolyn Papke swore in the new officers.
