ECACE Grant

• U.S. citizen or an eligible noncitizen
• Currently work or have worked in the early childhood field
• Be enrolled or accepted for enrollment to pursue an early childhood education certificate or degree unless you already hold a bachelor’s degree
• Maintain satisfactory academic progress
• Complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid)
• Not be in default on any federal student loan or owe a refund on any state or federal grant

1. Apply to Kish and declare an Early Childhood degree or certificate program
2. Fill out the FAFSA
3. Create or update your Gateways Registry account 
4. Download and fill out the Eligibility Verification Form found on your Gateways Registry (it will be uploaded to your application)
5. Fill out the ECACE application

Kishwaukee College's Early Childhood Education program offers several options for professionals looking to gain credentials. 

• Gateways ECE Level 2 Certificate: Assistant teacher ages 0-8
• Gateways ECE Level 3 Certificate: Entry-level teacher ages 0-8
• Early Childhood Education Associate in Applied Science Degree: Teacher ages 0-8 (Gateways Level 4 certificate)

A degree in Early Childhood Education opens the doors to work in a childcare center or special program for children 6 weeks through 8 years old. Middle-management skills are emphasized in the program.
