Medical assistant

Medical assistants (MA) are a vital player on the healthcare team. These professionals are found at the front desk and in the examination room fulfilling different responsibilities. MAs are skilled in office systems work such as medical billing/coding, scheduling, electronic medical records and office management. They also perform patient assessments and are able to take vital signs, measure oxygen levels, draw blood, perform an EKG, process lab specimens, assist with minor procedures and administer medications. They are highly knowledgeable, do a lot to help patients and contribute much to the medical team. 

In our MA program, you will:

  • Build confidence to provide exceptional patient care and perform important administrative tasks 
  • Work in the field alongside medical professionals during clinicals in local healthcare facilities
  • Prepare to become a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)
