Kish College Foundation honors outgoing director, welcomes new member

The Kishwaukee College Foundation welcomed Corinne Haviley as a new member of its Board of Directors while bidding farewell to Brent O’Daniell during the Foundation’s May meeting.

Corinne HavileyHaviley joins the Board of Directors with a background in the health care field. She currently serves as the Vice President and Chief Nurse Executive for Northwestern Medicine Kishwaukee and Valley West hospitals. Haviley’s office regularly works with the Kishwaukee College Nursing program for on-the-job training through clinical rotations.

“As a nurse, I’m invested in the future of the profession, and I believe Kish is a great place for nurses to begin their careers,” Haviley said. “I admire the men and women that go into nursing because they truly make a difference, and we are committed to evolving the profession.”

The Kishwaukee College Foundation offers scholarships and support for Kish’s health science programs in addition to the many career and transfer programs offered at the College.

Haviley will replace outgoing Director Brent O’Daniell. Joining the Foundation Board in 2020, O’Daniell provided valuable input on the Awards Committee, helping implement the Foundation’s Distinguished Alumni Award. He also helped enhance the Foundation’s scholarship award process, which takes place each fall and spring semester. O’Daniell has taken a role as Superintendent of Beardstown CUSD #15 after serving as Superintendent of Genoa-Kingston School District #424 for six years.

The Foundation Board also recognized the service of Dr. Norm Jenkins, who now serves as an honorary Director Emeritus. Dr. Jenkins has been involved at Kish since its inception and served as Kishwaukee College’s second President from 1978-2000. Jenkins is a longtime supporter of the Foundation, and he officially joined the Foundation Board in 2016 and retired from the Board in December 2022.

“We thank Dr. Jenkins and Mr. O’Daniell for their years of dedicated service to our Foundation Board. Their guidance and leadership have been imperative in advancing our mission of supporting Kish through scholarships, program enhancement and College initiatives,” said Dr. Kayte Hamel, Vice President of College Relations & Executive Director of the Kishwaukee College Foundation.

Each semester, the Kishwaukee College Foundation awards hundreds of scholarships to Kish students, which are made possible through generous gifts from members of the community, local businesses and industry, and area associations.
