This juried exhibition highlights artworks created by Kishwaukee College students. Much of the work on display is a product of Kishwaukee College’s art program, showcasing artwork in an array of media, such as painting, drawing, ceramics, metals, printmaking, design, and photography. Koran by Heart: One Chance to Remember, April 11, 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm, room A1225 In this HBO documentary and film festival favorite, the viewer has the opportunity to follow the lives of three children from the countries of Senegal, Tajikistan, and Maldives as they compete in an international contest to learn and recite all 600 pages of the Koran. The film chronicles the family life, the successes, the failures, and the dreams of these children, providing a wonderful narrative about Islam’s place in the modern world and the struggles facing the next generation of Muslims.
