The Kamelian

The Kamelian is Kishwaukee College’s Student Literary and Arts Journal. It is produced once per academic year, and it reflects the best writing and artwork of our students. Work is submitted in three literature categories and three art categories, and these submissions are ranked by jurors from outside of the Kishwaukee College community. Only the very best pieces are selected for inclusion in the Kamelian, so we are very proud of our students whose work we feature.

This year’s recipients will receive their monetary award, their certificate, and a copy of Kamelian 2020.  Limited print copies are available; however, a digital copy can be obtained at

https://www.kish.edu/student-life-campus/arts-cultural-events.

Best of Show

Each year the judges have the option of selecting an outstanding entry they feel is worthy of special recognition because of the quality of the piece.  While they don't always take that option or come to an agreement, this year the art judges all unanimously chose Callie Ackland's two-dimensional entry Hatching for that distinction, citing both the quality of the work and the story told through the piece.
