Precision Agriculture

precision agriculture

Precision agriculture is the latest technological revolution for agriculture. Sometimes called satellite farming or site-specific crop management, ag professionals who use precision ag methods tend to see a positive impact on their crops and farmland. Farmers, crop scouts and applicators use observation, measurements and specific responses to inter and intra-field variability crops. This approach aims to increase profit, productivity and preservation of resources.

In our noncredit, precision ag classes, you will:

  • Learn with ag professionals in the classroom and outside on our 120-acre campus
  • Explore the basics of precision agriculture including GPS, mapping boundaries and creating a variable rate application (VRA) prescription
  • Gain experience with modern equipment and software, including a John Deere UTV Crossover Gator
