After getting a prescription from a doctor, pharmacists dispense medication to patients and make sure they know how to use it safely. A background in chemistry and biology are important, and we offer a strong foundation in those needed subjects. Kish provides the first steps needed to become a licensed pharmacist.
In our Pre-Pharmacy pathway, you may:
- Earn an Associate in Science degree with a focus on necessary pharmacy coursework
- Prepare yourself to transfer and take your next steps in pharmacy education

Pharmacy is a high-paying career with the 2019 median pay at $128,090 per year.

Pharmacists work in pharmacies located in hospitals and drug or grocery stores. Pharmacists can also conduct research for new drugs.

Careful attention to detail is a must in the industry as pharmacists need to be knowledgeable of medication ingredients, maintain patient records and inventory supplies.
Pre-Pharmacy allows students to transfer to a four-year university with required coursework before entering pharmacy school. A Doctor of Pharmacy degree and two licensure exams are required before practicing.
