History
History opens the door to several opportunities while giving you the flexibility to grow, challenge yourself and move your career in a variety of directions after graduation. Our students often transfer to NIU to complete their bachelor’s degree. History majors benefit from a well-rounded liberal arts education while they hone the communication, writing and critical thinking skills they'll need for success in their careers and as informed, involved citizens.
If you’re planning on studying history at a 4-year institution, you can start with us and:
- Take courses in American history, European history, World History, and African/African-American studies.
- Earn an associate degree and prepare to transfer to a 4-year institution
