Kish College Foundation receives 3M grant for Nursing Textbook Initiative
The Kishwaukee College Foundation received a $5,000 grant from the 3M Site Hometown Donation program in support of the Foundation’s Nursing Textbook Initiative.

Health Information Technology
Individuals working in Health Information Technology are essential employees in various health care settings. The Medical Billing and Coding Certificate allows students to gain skills needed to code and file information in medical offices, health care facilities and insurance companies.
In our Health Information Technology program, you may:
- Earn a certificate in Medical Billing and Coding
- Gain skills needed to complete, file and respond to medical insurance forms and reports.
- Receive extensive training based on certification testing administered by the American Health Information Management Association, the American Academy of Professional Coders, and the experiences of a registered health information administration supervising medical coders.

- Medical records and health information specialists are in-demand in many different sectors in the health care or health insurance fields.
- The National Career Clusters Framework created a tool to help you find a career that suits your interests and skills. Our program is part of the Health Science career cluster.
- Students in the Medical Billing and Coding certificate will learn the skills needed for maintaining appropriate medical office standards and systems, medical insurance processing and coding procedures.
- Earning the Medical Billing and Coding certificate through Kishwaukee College allows students to seek employment right away or build on their training with further education.
- Students interested in pursuing a degree or certificate in Health Information Technology are encouraged to speak with their academic advisor for course and career planning.

Amboy Class of 2014 supports Kish Foundation Scholarship
Members of the Amboy High School Class of 2014 supported the Kishwaukee College Foundation's Mathew J. Rood Diesel Power Technology Scholarship after collecting donations at their class reunion. The class recently donated the proceeds to Courtney Walz of the Kishwaukee College Foundation at Amboy Depot Days.
