English as a Second Language (ESL)
English as a second language (ESL) classes help English learners at all levels improve their English reading, writing, listening and speaking skills. Our free ESL classes can open a world of possibilities for those with limited English language experience. Becoming conversational or even fluent in the language can help with securing employment or gaining a promotion. It will also help prepare you for student success and help you communicate in English with more confidence.
In our noncredit, English as a second language classes, you will:
- Start ESL classes at a level right for you: beginning, intermediate or advanced
- Enroll in our ESL pre-bridge and transition class to learn more about the process for attending college.
- Receive personalized instruction from English speakers
Program Details
- Classes are hosted on campus and throughout the community.
- All classes are funded through federal and state grants and are free.
- The ESL pre-bridge class works on reading and writing improvement. You’ll also learn how to enroll in college, explore financial resources, prepare for college writing and understand academic planning. The college placement test is given at the end of the course.
- Beginning, intermediate and advanced ESL classes will meet you where you’re at and bring you to the next level of mastery.
- You can register on campus and at locations throughout the community.
- Set aside at least three hours for registration, orientation and placement testing.
