Engineering
Engineering is applying scientific principles to design any number of structures and objects. Engineers have a broad knowledge of physics, mathematical concepts and properties of a variety of raw materials to create safe, functional designs. There are a several specialized fields within engineering: chemical, mechanical and electrical are only a few of them. Many engineering programs at 4-year institutions have students complete a core group of courses in calculus, physics and engineering statics. We have put together a program to cover those topics and prepare you for transfer.
In our engineering program, you may:
- Pursue an Associate in Science degree with an emphasis in Engineering or an Associate in Engineering Science degree prior to transfer
- Prepare for a 4-year degree in engineering or another science/technology-based program
Degrees and Certificates
Program Details
- We’re your first step in preparing for a career in any field of engineering or other science/tech-based program.
- A bachelor’s in engineering can lead to a career as a civil engineer, aeronautical engineer, electrical engineer or even in logistics, business or technical writing. Career possibilities are wide.
- Coursework is taught by experienced faculty.
- Our students work on the same or similar equipment they will use at their transfer university.
- Transfer to a 4-year institution to complete a bachelor’s degree in any field of engineering or another science/technology-based program.
- Our engineering program is designed to be compatible with the first two years of required coursework at Northern Illinois University and the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign.
- Are you a high school student thinking of studying engineering? Our EMSA program may be perfect for you.
- After being accepted to Kish, there is no formal program admissions process for engineering.
- Students interested in pursuing an A.S. degree with an emphasis in physics or A.E.S degree are encouraged to speak with their academic advisor.
