Chemistry
Chemistry
Chemistry is a physical science that studies the composition, structure and properties of the building blocks of all physical objects — matter. Because it investigates the most basic aspects of matter, the study of chemistry is central to other scientific disciplines including biology, geology and physics. Our chemistry students learn about the properties of atoms, chemical bonds, chemical compounds, chemical interactions and formation of different substances through chemical reactions.
In our chemistry program, you may:
- Pursue an Associate in Science degree with an emphasis in Chemistry prior to transfer
- Prepare for a 4-year degree in chemistry or a preprofessional life science program
- Strengthen your analytical and scientific mind in pursuit of advanced and specialized science topics

- Coursework is taught by experienced faculty in a modern labs.
- Our students work on the same or similar equipment they will use at their transfer university and in the workplace.
- Transfer to a 4-year institution to complete a bachelor’s degree in chemistry or preprofessional life science program.
- Are you a high school student thinking of studying chemistry? Our EMSA program may be perfect for you.
- After being accepted to Kish, there is no formal program admissions process for chemistry.
- Students interested in pursuing an A.S. degree with an emphasis in chemistry are encouraged to speak with their academic advisor.
