Kish College offering free AI credentials for students, staff

Kishwaukee College is offering all students and employees free artificial intelligence (AI) credentials to help build innovative skills and navigate emerging workplace technologies.

“These AI credentials help ensure our students and staff are able to understand and use available technologies, appreciating their capabilities and limitations. It is important for our learners to feel confident using AI. And it is important for our employers to have confidence in our graduates’ ability to adapt to a rapidly changing workforce,” said Dr. Laurie Borowicz, President of Kishwaukee College.

The AI credentials are offered through the Digital Education Council, a global community of universities and organizations advancing AI literacy, digital innovation and the future of higher education. The courses to earn each credential are online and self-paced, providing future-focused workforce and technology skills to help learners meet their college or career goals. Credentials offered include AI Literacy for All, Applied AI Literacy for All, and AI Literacy for Faculty, Leaders and Administrators.

As AI continues to transform education and the workplace, we are committed to ensuring our college community is prepared to navigate and succeed in an AI-enabled world,” said Dr. Barbara Leach, Vice President of Strategy and Chief Academic Officer.

Kishwaukee College has made technology and artificial intelligence a key focus of College goals in recent years, identifying AI as a way to improve student success and institutional effectiveness.
