Kishwaukee College will celebrate Black History Month throughout February by hosting
several events and discussions for students and the public. Black History Month is
observed annually to recognize and honor the accomplishments Black people have made
in the United States and across the world.
Step into a canvas of vibrant expressions as Kishwaukee College transforms its Student
Center into a gallery of inspiration this Black History Month. Beginning Thursday,
Feb. 1, Kish will proudly showcase Black artists whose brushstrokes tell stories of
resilience, culture, and triumph.

Kishwaukee College is honored to celebrate Black History Month and aligns its programming
based on the themes developed by the Association for the Study of African American
Life and History. This year’s theme is African Americans and the Arts. The College
