Kishwaukee College will celebrate Black History Month throughout February by hosting
several events and discussions for students and the public. Black History Month is
observed annually to recognize and honor the accomplishments that Black people have
made in the United States and across the world. The events hosted by Kish are free
and may be in-person or virtual.

Kishwaukee College is honored to celebrate Black History Month and aligns its programming
based on the themes developed by the Association for the Study of African American
Life and History. This year’s theme is Black resistance. The College is committed
to a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging, focused on respect and
fairness, in all aspects of the College experience.
