Kish College recognized for Excellence in Financial Reporting

Kishwaukee College was awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for the College’s comprehensive financial report for the Fiscal Year 2021.

The achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by Kishwaukee College and its management, according to GFOA.

Jill Hansen, Kishwaukee College Chief Financial Officer, and the Kishwaukee College Business Office were cited for their work compiling the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR). Each year, Kish submits its ACFR to GFOA for review and evaluation by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, which includes demonstrating a constructive "spirit of full disclosure" to clearly communicate Kish’s financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the report.

“The ACFR allows the public to assess the economic condition of Kishwaukee College with full transparency because the report goes well beyond minimum financial reporting requirements,” Hansen said.

Kish has earned the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting every year since first submitting an ACFR in 2012.

“This recognition showcases the fiscal stability and transparency Kishwaukee College offers to the community it serves,” said Bob Johnson, Kishwaukee College Board Chair. “The efforts of Jill Hansen and our Business Office are exceptional and greatly appreciated by College leadership and our constituents.”
