Kish College to host Discover Kish for new students
Kishwaukee College will host Discover Kish, an informational event for new students and their families. Discover Kish is from 11 am-3 pm Thursday, Jan. 9, 2025, at the College.
Read MoreThe Engineering, Math & Science Academy (EMSA) is open to all high school juniors and seniors who are interested in pursuing a college curriculum focused on science or engineering. EMSA provides students an opportunity to start their college career while still attending high school, offering at least 23 transferrable and affordable college credits before earning their high school diploma.
EMSA offers two unique tracks tailored towards students’ interests, aspirations, and intended college majors. Students have the opportunity to select their track upon application.
The Engineering track is designed for students interested in pursuing math-based majors and careers such as engineering, physics, chemistry and computer science.
Students in the EMSA Engineering track will take Fundamentals of Physics I and Calculus II during the fall semester, and Fundamentals of Physics II and Calculus III during the spring semester. As an optional second summer semester, Engineering track students can take Differential Equations.
Students who complete the Engineering track will earn 23 semester hours of transferable credit.
The Pre-Professional track is designed for students interested in pursuing science-based majors and careers including medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, physical therapy and veterinary science.
Students in the Pre-Professional track will take General Chemistry I and Biology Principles I during the fall semester, and General Chemistry II and Biology Principles II during the spring semester. As an optional summer semester, students can take Basic Chemistry.
Students who complete the Pre-Professional track will earn 18 semester hours of transferable credit.
